1. Indian
Space Research Organization:
This organization was formed in 1969. Its vision is to “harness space
technology for national development” This is managed by the department of
space which reports to Prime Minister of India. The Prime objective of ISPR is to develop Space Technology and its applications
for the national tasks.
2. Indira
Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research:
This is one of India’s premier nuclear research centres. After Bhabha
Atomic Research this is the second largest department in Atomic Energy. This

of Scientific and Industrial Research:
CSIR is the largest research and development organization in India. This
was established in 1942. This is one of the oldest research organization in
India. It runs 37 laboratories and 39
field station. It's worth that only 2% fund is provided by India to CSIR but
still CSIR is one of the growing industry in India & meets
all the expectations. CSIR has come out with a “Game changing technology” for
enabling the Indian leather sector achieve the set target of USD 27 billion by
2020 by making leather processing environmentally sustainable. Addition with,
CSIR has been achieving many things from decade 1950-60 & still in progress.
4. Tata
Energy Research Institute:
This research field was established in 1974. Basically, its policy is to
provide solution transformed people’s lives and the environment like clean
energy, water management are some of the key focus of TERI.

Defence
Research & Development Organisation:
This is
working as a wing in defence research. This was established in 1958. This is an
agency of the Republic India charged by the military’s research and
development. This runs 52 laboratories with the 5000 scientists working in the
defence research and development service and apart from this 25000 other
scientific, technical and personnel support.

Indian
Council of Forestry Research & Education:
This
research, manages research and education in forestry sectors. Established in
1986, this runs under the ministry of Environment and Forests. The main functions
are to conduct the forestry research and also transfer the technologies
developed for the different states of India.

Environment
Protection Training and Research Institute:
By the govt of Andhra Pradesh
established it in 1992. Basically, this provide the training, consultancy in
the research services and extent the advocacy in environment protection.

Central
Power Research Institute
Basically, CPRI was
established to serve the National level laboratories in the electrical power
engineering beside functioning as an independent national testing also
certified the electrical equipment which are reliable for the power system.
This research labs also develop and innovated the new products for further
benefits.

Central
Fuel Research Institute:
From past years, this was different
institute Central Mining Research Institute and Central Fuel Research
Institute. But now this is known as “CFRI” This works under the CSIR, the
establishment of CSIR-CIMFR was aimed to provide the research and development
inputs for the enter coal energy (from mining to consumption).

Central Drug Research Institute:
This
institutes comes under the CSIR. This is a registered society of the federal
government. This was established in
1951. This is basically dedicated toward the drug research. One of the major
achievement was BGR - 24 (Ayurvedic anti-diabetic drug )
